How to Use Webessence

This information is also available as a text file.

Webessence is a beginners guide to the Internet, and to some of the related functions in Windows 95. It is basically an interactive handbook which you can read like a book. However, it is also a handy reference that you can use while you browse the Internet. To get the best use out of this "Cyberbook", bookmark it onto your "Links" toolbar in the Microsoft Internet Explorer Browser. How to do this is explained below. (Any underlined words that are in blue are a "Link" to someother page or site. If you click on the blue text, it will take you there. To go back press the button up top that says "Back").

How to add a site onto your "Links" Toolbar

  1. First load the start page into the browser. You can do this by clicking here.
  2. Click "View", then "Options", then click on the tab labled "Navigation".
  3. Click on the little arrow in the combo box labled Page:and select one of the "Quick Links" and then click the button labled "Use Current". Next, fill in the Name box by typing "Webessence".
  4. Now click "Apply", then "OK", and the link to the start page of Webessence will be available by clicking on "Links".
