As a child, I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. As a result, I have had an ecclectic and interesting work history. Still, writing, teaching, and mothering have become my most cherished occupations.

Like many people whose intersts lie in the arts, my work has always been a natural part of the fabric of my life. While growing up on the Canadian prairies, writing songs and poetry were early childhood passions for me. In my teens, I was trained as a classical singer while banging out folk / rock songs on my guitar and playing roles in high school theatre productions. In the decade to follow, I  pursued concurrent interests in drama and music. I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts, in Theatre, from the University of Victoria; at the same time I was writing and performing, as a solo artist, and in various vocal groups, from Winnipeg to Victoria and north to Dawson City.

After becoming a mom, I shifted my song writing focus as I began to see the world through the eyes of my growing daughters. When my children were 4 and 7 they started asking to sing with their dad and me, so our family formed vocal group called Kinfolk, performing on stages both grand and humble in western Canada. In 1997 we recorded "I'm Full" a CD which continues to find its way onto the radio air waves both here in Canada and abroad.

The most recent phase in my creative wandering involves writing children's picture books. Presently, I am producing an audio CD of several of these works as well as continuing to write and record songs for children and adults. Also of late, I'm having a great deal of fun writing inspirational songs for a women's group called The Sisterhood of the Cosmic Muffin, which I am co-facilitating with my friend and business associate Sue Burness.

Although I loved the era of my life which found me raising and home-schooling my daughters, I am also looking forward with joy to this next phase and all that is on it's way. Ever in search of more clarity, I continue to draw inspiration from nature, from quiet, contemplative, mediation and from the significant relationships in my life.

At the moment, I live in Toronto with my best friend, Jamie Musselwhite, our two children
and our cats Jack and Phoenix.
